Celia de Serra

Celia de Serra has been documenting nature for over 30 years and has been continuously exhibiting her work across the uk, amassing a collection of awards and recognition for her stunning, detailed charcoal drawings of trees and landscapes. With many originals now in private collections, prints and new works can be discovered on both her website and in galleries currently exhibiting her semi-photorealistic artwork.

Growing up in Kent and then graduating with a first-class honour’s degree in Fine Art, Celia’s passion for the natural world has blossomed into a full-time career working from her home studio on the Welsh borders. First capturing her subjects by camera and preliminary sketches, Celia then begins to build up layers of charcoal and marks, erasing or adding to them to produce complex surfaces and a sense of depth. The transforming effect of transient light provides the viewer an opportunity to experience the atmosphere and changing weather patterns captured so elegantly.

Celia hand-frames her drawings using sustainable materials with conservation grade mounting and glazed with anti-reflective glass. of purpose.
